Many people on Bikes Going past my house (Tour de Yorkshire 2016 at Ruswarp section)

If you've ever wondered what it's like to watch one of these races live at the scene instead of on TV.... it's basically lots of waiting around inbetween a load of support vehicles rumbling through, accompanied by sporadic bursts of many people famous for riding bicycles passing through so fast you can't really figure out who's who.

To give you an idea, I headed outside around 1:54pm and over by around 3:20pm - this video squishes it down to around 19minutes of what there was to see when things were happening during this time.

Web Design ChitChat - Mobirise 2.9 Website Building Software

Web Design ChitChat - Mobirise 2.9 Website Building Software

I've started tinkering with this lately, seeing as Google has started getting a bit narky about making webpages mobile friendly (and still whinge about it even when they work fine on my iPhone + iPad when I built it the usual old way).

Well this software seems alright, the basic core of the program is free, though you have to cough-up $69 (£48.51) to unlock the bit that allows you to tinker with raw code in it.

Snow video I made

Back in January I made some short video clips of when it was snowing (ending up looking like frosty the snowman in the process), and stitched them all together with Corel VideoStudio Pro X5, then uploaded the result to Youtube + also embedded it to be viewed from my video albums on AlltheSocialNet.
It's already passed the 1,000 views mark, making it my first video on ye olde Youtube to do that.

JD is seriously pissed with Arvixe's webhosting "service"

Although I host the vast majority of my websites via 1&1 UK, for a variety of technical reasons I also have a few hosted with ARVIXE.

Around 2:15am this morning I popped in to see how these ARVIXE hosted sites were doing, only to find they were out of action because the MySQL server was playing silly sods.

They now seem to have gradually started working again now (But a bit hiccupy) as I write this, but holy s**t are there some problems I'm finding with them...........

With my AlltheInterweb Answers Q&A website, it seems to have rolled back to before I answered a test question in the early hours of Friday morning, and also to before I spent most of yesterday afternoon posting a crapload of new question categories in the travel section for Australia* & England** + 3 or 4 new question I added around this time yesterday afternoon.

With the WIKI attached to that website..... earlier in the week I spent most of an afternoon and some of the night deleting a massive great load of tossers (About 300 - 400 I reckon) & the bloody great backlog of spam articles they'd screwed-up my wiki with. From what I can make out now the site is back in action, we're back to f***ing square one again and i've got to fix that all over again. Also seem to have lost all the articles I've posted in the past week, including for the planet Saturn + Saturn the car brand + the English county of Hampshire (not sure what else). Oh, and reverted the article for Scarborough (North Yorkshire) to back before I added a photograph of the place to my article

Did I mention yesterday was the 2nd Anniversary of my Grandma dying?

KitKat Chunky peanut butter

Recently got my mitts on one of these finally. Verdict = get them if/while you can.
Just like a regular KitKat chunky, but with peanut butter in it. Bit salty though.

Who thought tinned potatoes were a good idea?

I've been wondering this for a while now. Possibly the least successful canned food out there, don't taste all that particularly great.... especially if you followed the instructions on the tin that say to empty the contents (potatoes & water) into a saucepan and heat up. If you use this method, I've found they end up tasting so bad, they bring back Vietnam-style flashbacks of childhood, of grandparents trying to wipe your face with a dishcloth that's well on its way to becoming minging, and in need of throwing out soon.

Far better to fill a saucepan with freshwater from the kitchen tap, and heat until it starts bubbling away... Then put the potatoes in there to heat up, having drained off the water in the can down the kitchen sink.

Even then, they're only really any good if you stick them in a stew / casserole, and bury them in loads of beef gravy. Or with a salad, and bury them in a load of Heinz Salad Cream, or Mayo.

They're no good at all for mashed potato.

I suppose the one redeeming feature is it saves having to wash & peel them.
